Cracka Review

Redbank - the quiet achiever. They've been producing clever Victorian wines like this one for years, often with little fanfare, but always with a consistent style. This rich and spicy, mid weight Shiraz is a perfect example of the range too - plenty of flavour, without excess. Pretty tasty really!

Winemaker's Notes

Deep crimson with hints of magenta. Bright fruit aromas of dark plums and fruits of the forest with a hint of star anise and savoury spice. This wine is medium-bodied with sweet dark berry fruit, chocolate and spice flavours. Its mid palate fruit generosity is complemented by a dash of Sangiovese which adds a savoury edge and rustic tannin finish to the final blend. Enjoy now with a bowl of slow cooked Italian beef stew flavoured with rosemary, sage and pancetta, served with a side of creamy polenta.

Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; a well-crafted medium-bodied wine, with far more texture and style to the plum and black cherry fruit than expected at this price. Will never be better than it is now, and thatÕs pretty good.

Bright crimson wine thats all lean and complex, with some tomato leaf and herbal notes on the nose and a youthful, fresh palate thats lifted and long.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Clear, deep colour; Iight- to medium-bodied, with plenty of ripe red and black fruit flavours; minimal tannins and oak, but enough.

Sourced from the King Valley and showing spicy fruit and smooth texture.
