2014 Sacredtree by Gemtree Classic Vine Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Know what the greatest thing about this Shiraz is? The blackness. You can just stare into the limitless richness of this red and get lost in it, the inky, black/red/purple colour a signal of the thick fruit flavours and impressive length that lies beneath. Magic.

That's the appeal of a broad-shouldered wine like this, the classic McLaren Vale decadence just oozing out from every pore. Rich, plump and full-flavoured, this showcases all that is great in McLaren Vale Shiraz, honed by the careful touch of Mike Brown and the Gemtree team.

If you like dark and brooding, serious McLaren Vale Shiraz, you're going to love this.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Brick red with dark hues

Nose: There is a dense and concentrated aroma of dark fruits with oaky spice and nutmeg

Palate: On the palate, this wine is rich, vibrant, soft and generous with great structure, balanced acid and silky tannins. This is a delicious wine with very good weight and complexity

Food pairing: Pair with kangaroo fillet and warm roasted baby beet salad
