2014 Shottesbrooke Regional Series Shiraz

Winemaker's Notes

Conventional winemaking techniques were used to craft this wine. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness to ensure no overripe characters crept into the finished product. The style of this wine is fresh, fruit forward and easy drinking, displaying all the varietal character expected of our Regional Series wines.

Appearance: Vivid purple.

Nose: Sweet and ripe berry fruit aromas.

Palate: The generous medium bodied palate is dominated by fresh, fruit-forward plum and strawberry flavours, while soft tannins give the wine a delightfully lingering finish.

Food: Match Lamb loin chops or moussaka.

Cellaring: Drink now or for up to three years.

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
A rather odd name for a South Eastern Australian wine, but it has vivid purple-crimson colour and lashings of sweet cherry and plum fruit, the finish dry; may not have seen any oak. Very good value nonetheless.
