2014 Spring Seed Wine Co. Organic Scarlet Runner Shiraz

Cracka Value Rating

Cracka Review

In these health conscious times, it’s nice to know there are options when it comes to the providence of our food and wine. For instance you’ll know that every time you choose a Spring Seed wine it’s been sourced from organic vineyards in the foothills in the McLaren Vale. Crafted by star winemaker Joch Bosworth, the wine displays lots of jubey black fruits, a hint of liquorice and supple, supporting tannins. Organic fruit has never tasted sweeter than this, a revelation of a wine for the price.

Winemaker's Notes

Scarlet Runner shows typical McLaren Vale characters; red and dark fruit with spice on the nose and the palate. The fruit is fresh, as a result of its youth and a pretty decent growing season, and there’s a hint of chocolate too. Nice tannins and a mid-weight tannin make this an absolute ripper of a wine. Enjoy alone, with friends or alongside a rich stew or braise.

WINESTATE (2010 Vintage) says
Pleasant, non-challenging wine with nice fruit concentration. Should age gracefully.
