In a similar vein to Farnese Edizione, San Marzano Anniversario- this wine is packing a punch!
Its not quite as monstrous as those previous two wine, but it has enough flavour to sink a ship...a large ship...a frigate.
Chocolate, mocha, a bit of vanillin..this is pure Italian power. Ripping stuff with a bit of lamb ragu, or some type of grilled red meat.
Try some, and then come back for more soon. Its one to have in the rack at all times!!
Vine: Nerello Mascalese Sicily
Production Area: Sambuca di Sicilia.
Winemaking: Low yield (about 70 quintals / ha). When the grapes reach maturity, they are cut the branches 10 cm before the cluster itself and thus began the natural drying process due to the hot Sicilian sun and the sirocco from Africa. When we obtained a decrease in weight by 15-20%, the grapes are harvested, crushed and begins fermentation on the skins. After a very long maceration, the wine is decanted into barrels where it rests for about six months.
Sensory characteristics: Ruby red in color, on, full and intense. The nose reveals intense sensations of red fruit, spices and red flowers. The palate is warm, full, soft and balanced, with red fruit return; long finish.
Serving suggestions: Excellent with pasta dishes with sauce, roast and game, well matured cheese.
Alcohol content: 13,50%
Wine Idea: Wine for young consumers, skilled enough and looking for products of great price / quality ratio.
