Cracka Review

This is proper, authentic Moscato from northern Italy that will change your perception of the style. We love this type of wine because it offers an alternative to sticky wines and is more sprightly on the palate, less cloying and lower in alcohol too.

It’s bright with citrus aromas, has a clean, fresh, slightly effervescent palate and cleansing acids on the finish. It’s a style that people come to love at first sip and we’d drink this with a fresh fruit pavlova for the ultimate taste sensation.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Straw yellow

Perfume: Intense aroma of honey, flowers and ripe grapes

Taste: Sweet, with hints of apricot and lemon, fresh aftertaste with nicely acidic finish

If we were to be picky, and at dbwwm we are never that, this isn't wine at all. Officially, 5% alcohol just isn't enough. Everyone turns a blind eye though, probably because these moscato wines are simply so delightful. Aussie winemakers have jumped on the moscato bandwagon but the Italians still do it best. This is fresh, clean and unimaginably delicious. A little sweet, a slight spritz, a taste like a lemon sponge cake exploding in your mouth.

This is a very good example of one of our favourite quaffing styles - slightly fizzy, nicely sweet, only slightly (5 per cent) alcoholic white wine. From the Asti region of north-west Italy, this is a great drink to have on its own, well-chilled, at the end of a long, hard day, perhaps with a plate of fresh fruit.
