2015 Astrolabe Province Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

You ask for it and we are happy to provide. Cracka Wines continue to be amazed at the non-stop Savalaunch that has our bottle shops snowed under with shelves of Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc. However, even we have to concede that sometimes we find Savvy’s that surprise and the Astrolabe label delivers in spades. It’s got a bold and distinctive nose that attacks the senses with lime and lemon grass before giving the palate an intense grapefruit punch before a dry mineral finish.

Winemaker's Notes

In the province of Marlborough, high sunshine hours are moderated by a mild sea while steep mountains keep moist and chilly winds at bay. A long cool growing season leads to gorgeous flavours.

My goal is to make the Province wines in a classic Marlborough vein, emphasising the varietal intensity created by leafy vineyards, ripe fruit and cool-climate growing.

Cellaring: Very enjoyable when young and fresh, and with the potential to age gracefully

Suggested foods: Fresh, leafy green salads, seafood of all types, and dishes with lifted aromatic herbs

Alc/vol: 13.5%
