2015 Bird in Hand Two in the Bush Adelaide hills SSB

Cracka Value Rating

Cracka Review

How does the expression go - "A Bird in the Hand is worth Two in the Bush"? But what does that really mean and while you are pondering that question perhaps you should pour yourself a glass of this super charged aromatic white from the Adelaide Hills. A glass full of zingy, zesty citrus fruit complemented by tropical flavours. It’s crisp, clean and best suited to a kilo of prawns.

Winemaker's Notes

This refreshing wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc deriving from a single vineyard at the Bird in Hand property with Semillon from a neighbouring Woodside vineyard. The blend is dependant upon the vintage and the Semillon is given 1-2 hours of skin contact to add extra flavour and texture.

A blend of 55% Semillon and 45% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2015 vintage has lifted varietal aromas and flavours of cut straw and lemon sorbet with hints of passionfruit and nettle. Light bodied and vibrant with zippy, refreshing acidity combined with some fruit weight and texture.
