Cracka Review

De Bortoli have done it again with this smooth and juicy Shiraz from South Eastern Australia. Truck loads of blackberries, mulberries, plums and soft spices leap out of the glass, along with touches of florals and mocha. The palate is juicy, fruity and plush, with lip-licking berry flavours, soft tannins, and a choc berry finish that lingers. Saying this is a value wine is an understatement!

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Bright crimson with ruby hues.

Bouquet: Generous layers of ripe red fruits combining with notes of mint and spice.

Palate: The wine has a nice silky texture mouthfeel complimenting red berry characters with a touch of peppery spice from underlying oak and integrated tannins.

Winemaking: The vineyards chosen exhibited rich fruit flavours with generous colour and were harvested when flavour was at its optimum. Fermented on skins for 5-7 days @ 20-22°C to maximise fruit, tannin and colour extraction. Fermented on American oak, then matured with American oak staves with micro-oxygenation for approx. 2 months. 100% MLF.

Food match: This full bodied wine style matches well with:
Red meats - T-bone steaks; stews; lamb shanks

Alc/vol: 13.5%
