Cracka Review

Hailing from Tassie, it's sweet and low in alcohol, with pretty honeysuckle and jasmine florals, with hits of lemons and limes. This translates to the palate, which is toothsome and citrusy, with a talcy texture and some refreshing acidity cleaning up the finish. Try it with a fruity dessert, or a spicy Thai dish.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Pale straw

Aroma: Intense flint overlies delicate aromas of jasmine blossom, lime pith and lemon sherbet

Palate Acute flavours of juicy lime and Granny Smith apples are complemented by the fine acid profile and natural grape sugars, creating a wine of elegance and balance.

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
Seventy grams residual sugar (SGR) is a low-alcohol refreshment bomb, showing a delicate apple and lime blossom nose; really fresh and primary. The palate s like liquid ripe fresh apple and pears, chalky texture, with a supple, floral, musky finish. Great balance here.

Nick Stock (2008 Vintage) says
One of the growing array of off-dry young rieslings made in a German-inspired model of tangy, sweet fruit. Super-fresh apple and light stone fruit nose. The palate has great balance and fresh-cut acid, really well judged and finishing on a flinty nuance note.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Pale hue; green apples are the central theme of the bouquet and the fruit purity is outstanding; the lime-sweetness is counterbalanced by piercing acidity, and the finish clean and almost chalky dry.

Tyson Stelzer (2008 Vintage) says
With all the zesty acidity and crunchy green apple notes of early harvest, this is a pretty, perfumed, medium-dry style with fine minerality.
