cracka review

A lifted and savoury Sangiovese from Tuscany, this brightly packaged little number is just bursting with the sort of dark berry delicousness that Sangiovese is renowned for, backed up by fine tannins and cleansing acidity. You just want to reach for some sort of antipasto plate and drink away the afternoon.

Campbell Mattinson (2011 Vintage) says

A steal at the price. It works best as a quaffer but quality-wise it’s better than that. Beautiful fruit. Clean savouriness. Tastes of black cherries, spice, and peanut oil. Ferrous aromatics. Builds in the glass. I wouldn’t age it but I’d buy a case of this for drinking over the next year in a heartbeat.

winemaker's notes

Ripe and fruit-driven with aromas of wild berries, cherries, bramble and savoury spice. The palate is vibrant and nicely shaped with flavours of red berries, liquorice and dried herbs matched by fine tannins and bright acidity. Generous of flavour but well balanced, this wine will be a versatile partner to a wide range of cuisine.

Variety: 86% Sangiovese, 8% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon

Alc/vol: 13.0%
