Produced by Yalumba, this is a light, steely, dry savvy that shows citrus, gooseberry and a touch of dried herbs and lemongrass on the nose, whilst the palate is zesty and totally smashable, with citrus and tropical flavours, a subtle chalky texture, and a crisp, crunchy finish. A good quaffer at a decent price.

Winemaker's Notes

Pale lemon in colour with a green tinge, the Mawson’s Cape Denison Sauvignon Blanc opens with pungent aromas of citrus, passionfruit and upon further exploration, nuances of fresh grass and sugar snap pea unfold. There is an underlying ripple of funk, a signature of the wild fermentation.

The first mouthful of the Sauvignon Blanc greets you with upfront fruit citrus sweetness and freshness along with the textural experience of grapefruit pith. The mid palate explodes with sherbet bomb like intensity, which leaves a refreshing and mouth puckering, yet enjoyable acid zing. The finish is long and linear, yet this is a very more-ish and friendly Sauvignon Blanc.

Mawson’s Cape Denison Sauvignon Blanc is best consumed in its youth. Try with spring Panzanella (Tuscan bread salad) with asparagus.
