2015 Morgan's Reserve Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This Morgan's Reserve Chardonnay packs in all of the good bits about Adelaide Hills Chardonnay too. We sold shedloads of this tasty Hills Chardonnay over the years, and boy is it good to have it back again.

Made in a modern, delicate and fresh style, this packs in fine peach fruit, some high-toned vanilla oak and then a crisp and vibrant backbone. Delizioso!

Winemaker's Notes

Winemaking Notes

Fermentation some higher solids and a Burgundian yeast strain to enhance fruit characters and create complexity and texture. 9 mths French oak maturation and mixed regularly on lees, in the early stages, post- fermentation. Small amount put through malolactic fermentation, to mainly broaden the creamy palate.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Straw yellow.

Nose: Attractive white peach and nectarine aromas layered with nuances of pear and lemon citrus. The fruit aromas are accompanied by shortbread and toast from the integration of French oak, and a hint of spicy ginger fermentation character.

Palate: This wine has an excellent fruit weight of fleshy citrus and melon fruit flavours. A creamy creamy cashew nut and oatmeal texture is provided by lees contact, and is complimented by a fresh lingering acidity.

Food: Chicken Breast Fillet, with Mango Salsa.

Alc/Vol: 12.5%
