    cracka review

You know what is great about Barossa Shiraz like this?
    Everything.
Seriously, if you like Barossa Shiraz and don't enjoy this red then it might be time to breakup. We're sorry, it's all over. This is officially 'the goods'.
This Shiraz is sourced from a single block planted in one of the higher parts of the Barossa, and based on very old clones. What's more, the winemaker comes from a famous Barossa winemaking family - real wine royalty.
Gee it's serious booze too, with a smorgasbord of critics gushing about the quality. Think 96 points from James Halliday, 95 points Tony Keys and 93 points from Campbell Mattinson. Open fermented and matured in only older oak in a bid to enhance the fruit vibrancy, this was described by one critic as 'liquid beauty' with another wishing that 'if only more Barossa Shiraz could taste and feel like this'.

The sweet black cherry fruits are woven into geranium, green olive, smoked meats aromas. In the mouth, an intense firm palate with a thread of refined tannins. Medium full bodied, red cherry into blacker flavours and intense tannins creating a saliva inducing savoury tannin finish.

    James Halliday (2014 Vintage) says
Open fermented, matured in used French hogsheads. The vineyard was planted with cuttings from 100+yo vines. The decision to use old oak to highlight the vibrantly fragrant black fruits has resulted in a totally delicious springfresh wine.

    winemaker's notes

Medium-bodied with vivid cherry-plum fruit notes, hints of earth and toast. Gentle grainy tannins lead into a provocative and lengthy finish. A modern style of Barossa Shiraz showing elegance and a sense of place.

    Suitable for vegans.
