2015 Tyrrell's Old Winery Pinot Noir

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The Tyrrell’s family have produced quite a legacy in their 150 years of winemaking and you could never accuse them of slowing down or being complacent. The Old Winery range is a collection of wines suitable for everyday quaffing, like this Pinot that would pair well with anything from pasta, pizza or sausages and mash. It’s got vivid aromas of cherry and strawberry as well as some complex, earthy tones. The palate is pure Pinot with soft tannins, juicy sweet cherry fruit and a hint of savoury oak.

Winemaker's Notes

A soft but generously flavoured style with sweet aromas of berries and subtle forest floor notes. The palate is long and concentrated with rich sweet fruit, subtle savoury oak support and smooth tannins. An ideal accompaniment to red meat, game dishes, tomato based pasta and semi-soft cheeses.

Expert Reviews

Peter Forrestal (2008 Vintage) says
This is a good drink, more in the ripe, dry red style than varietal pinot noir. At the price, that should be no bad thing. It has redcurrant and red cherry flavours and is smooth, easy drinking

A very light, sappy, earthy style of pinot.
