The team at Waipara Hills wines (based in North Canterbury) have crafted a seriously generous and luscious Pinot here, with that trademark Marlborough juiciness in abundance. It's a round and bountiful red in a classic mode.
How good is it? Well it landed a Gold Medal at the New World Wine Awards plus a Bronze Medal at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
Appearance: Bright garnet red
On the nose: Attractive bright red fruits, florals and a nice lick of savoury spice to add interest
On the palate: Engaging subtle palate with great flow of fruit through to spicy notes that are supported by supple tannins.
