Cracka Review

Crack out the shades with this fresh, fruity style made to be elegant and restrained while showing all the class of Margaret River. Nectarine and peach fruits flavours finishing fresh and dry. Very gluggable!

Winemaker's Notes

This fruit driven unoaked Chardonnay has been produced using premium Watershed grapes from the Margaret River region.

The wine exhibits the classic varietal Chardonnay aromas of peaches and citrus.

On the palate, vibrant notes of stone fruit are complemented by fresh grapefruit characters and a creamy, nutty soft finish.

2015 Watershed Shades Unoaked Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

Wine Companion (2015 Vintage) says
Sunny but refreshing with grapefruit and citrus flavours poured over crushed stone fruits. Low oak influence. Skilfully made.

James Halliday (2014 Vintage) says
You don't use your best grapes to make unoaked chardonnay, but you'd be hard pressed to imagine much better than this. Grapefruit, white stone fruit and pear all have a place, crisp acidity drawing out the finish.

Classy unoaked style, with the combination of white peach and grapefruit expected from Margaret River, sustained and lengthened by good acidity. Unoaked chardonnay of high quality.

Ideal unwooded style, the fruit with a flowery/estery lift, the palate precise and quite long
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Unusual aromas like perfumed rose petals. The palate is crisp and fresh and has plenty of length.

Peter Forrestal (2006 Vintage) says
This chardonnay from the south of Margaret River has clean, fresh sweet tropical fruit flavours.
