    cracka review

Here, we've ventured away from the natural home of Shiraz (McLaren Vale, Barossa) and into the cool Adelaide Hills. The result is a wine that still packs so much flavour (especially in the warm 2015 vintage), except with spice too. A Goldilocks wine, that ticks all the boxes.

    expert reviews

    James Halliday (2015 Vintage) says
Individual vineyard block and clone selections (BVRC-12/16-54/712), selective machine-harvested (on board berry sorting), open fermentation of various configurations, some cold soak and a range of cultured yeast, 14-17 days on skins, 15 different fermentations, matured for 12 months in French oak (20% new). Good hue and depth; an intense palate that has a striking texture as it enters the mouth, and equally striking freshness.

    Campbell Mattinson (2015 Vintage) says
Adelaide Hills Shiraz from a warm/good year. It feels warm but it also feels spicy. It’s in a pretty good place you’d have to say. Red and black cherries, a touch of boysenberry, cloves and black pepper, a gentle twigginess. Velvety texture. Feels, smells and tastes exactly what it is: a cool climate Shiraz from a warmer year. Tasty. And good.

    Huon Hooke (2015 Vintage) says
Deep red colour with a purple tint and a rich, chocolate bouquet, which is echoed in the mouth. It's full-bodied and dense, chewy and tannic, powerful and penetrating, with a long-lasting finish and aftertaste. A long term keeper. Great value.

    winemaker's notes

One word… moreish, our apologies Oxford dictionary for butchering the English language, but it truly is! A luscious, beautifully textured red wine, comfortable complementing the richest of winter fare, or savoured with friends relaxing on the deck in summer. Dark cherry and black fruit flavours, cool climate spice and elegance all gently integrate with fine silken tannins highlighting the careful selection of French oak barriques.
