2015 Xanadu Next of Kin Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
A bright and fresh nectarine and spiced fruit bouquet, with a touch of lanolin also on display; the light- to medium-weighted palate is fleshy and fresh, open-knit and accessible; built for early consumption.

Nick Stock (2010 Vintage) says
A cool and composed chardonnay from the west offering lively flavour and structure and drawing squarely on fruit to get the job done. Plenty of pear and melon here, chalky texture; acid is fresh and there s a gently grippy edge to the finish.

Tyson Stelzer (2009 Vintage) says
Pristine and restrained, with icy, river pebble minerality glistening over its zesty lemon and lime zest core. The palate is a seamless and pure expression of just-ripe white peach juice. Long and balanced, this is a worthy successor to the attention-grabbing 2008.

Ray Jordan (2009 Vintage) says
For a second or "other" label this ain't half bad. There's some quality fruit in this wine which for less that $20 is a real steal. Crisp and persistent plate supported with a little oak. It has a lightly creamy texture with touches of citrus and crush almond. Lovely mouth feel and texture.

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
Plenty of rich, hearty Margaret River chardonnay fruit here: peaches and other stone fruits, all ripe and juicy. It's a simple fruit equation that really speaks to the inherent suitability of the grape to the place.
The Good Wine Guide
Peter Forrestal (2008 Vintage) says
Xanadu won a trophy (Best Commercial Wine) at the 2009 Sydney Wine Show with this superbly priced Margaret River chardonnay. It's been given the Rolls Royce treatment for a wine at this price point, with 75% being barrel-fermented and 10% seeing new oak. The nose is dominated by primary fruit while the palate features stone fruit. It is succulent, finishing crisp, dry and tangy. Delicious

Delicate lime nose with hints of spice. More spicy/peppery notes on the tight, long and graceful palate - very classy!
