Cracka Review

Sustainable has become a buzzword for many wineries and Peter Yealand was responsible for the first sustainable winery of its kind in New Zealand. Far from being some kind of grass smoking, tree hugging idealistic way of making wine, it’s a way of farming sensible and reducing the risk to the environment. Classic Savvy characters here of grapefruit and guava with a mineral edge before a refreshing core of citrus acids flood the finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Our Yealands Estate Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of four different blocks on our Seaview Vineyard – two warmer, sheltered inland blocks and two coastal blocks.

It shows pure fruit flavours of guava, blackcurrant leaf, fresh herbs, layered with bright citrus notes. The palate is textured and elegant, with the distinctive mineral finish that our Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for.

Enjoy as an aperitif, or with freshly shucked oysters, prawns, green lip mussels and clams. Also matches brilliantly with a goats cheese salad.

This wine is suitable for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free diets.

WINESTATE (2010 Vintage) says
Sweaty, pungent, green melon aromas leading to a well-structured, nicely textured, tropical/grassy palate. Plenty of life left in it yet.
