Cracka Review

What is the Little Yering? Well, it’s actually a wine for everyday drinking and comes from one of the Yarra Valley’s most established wineries. Pinot Noir is one of the main grapes that the Yarra does well and Yering are no stranger to the style. We think this is the perfect BYO red that would appeal to all and sundry. As with most Pinots you’ll find an attractive perfume of cherries and strawberries with a hint of oak. It’s got a soft, persistent palate with a good core of fruit and a long, savoury finish. It’s a duck-seeking missile.

Winemaker's Notes

Nose: Lifted perfume of violets and lavender. All spice intertwined with gamey, briary red and black cherry fruits. Complimented with subtle vanillin oak

Palate: Soft and juicy. Lovely mix of elegant fruit savoury spice and earthy undertones. Supple tannins and velvet like finish

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Good purple-crimson; matured in used French oak for 12 months; an honest, what you see is what you get style, with cherry/raspberry fruit, tannins (plenty) and oak. Good value; may surprise with a few years in bottle.
