2015 Zilzie Regional Yarra Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Zilzie don’t rest on their laurels when it comes to the fruit they use in their regional selections. When they want to make a wine that is distinctly regional they head to the Yarra Valley to source the best fruit possible. This is sophisticated Chardonnay that’s refined and elegant and seriously good with food like chicken. It tastes of nectarine and citrus with a creamy and persistent palate weight that finishes with attractive natural acids.

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Evidently sourced from 'the coolest to the warmest' regions of Victoria, with the cooler components (happily) dominating, providing length to the nectarine and citrus flavours. Value plus.

Peter Forrestal (2008 Vintage) says
This has had more time in oak than 'Selection 23' and is weightier, with some cedary notes, rich, creamy texture, plenty of concentrated flavours, a touch oaky to finish
