cracka review

This wine is a blend of Bimbadgen’s McDonalds Road and Palmers Lane premium Semillon blocks. The clay soils of McDonalds Road provide the tropical flavours whilst the sandy loam soils of Palmers Lane give this Semillon its distinctive fresh lime flavours, zesty acidity and finesse. A true reflection of great Hunter Valley Semillon. It shoots out lemon and lime in every mouthful - classic Hunter Sem at its affordable best!

expert reviews

James Suckling (2016 Vintage) says
This has ripened into some almost tropical territory with melon and nectarine fruits, the palate is soft, supple and easygoing, acidity is neatly placed, this has even-handed balanced appeal.

winemaker's notes

Our highly experienced and dedicated team skillfully blend the distinctive attributes of multiple vineyard sites in our Hunter Valley range to produce classic Hunter Valley wines.

Colour: Vibrant lemon and lime.

Nose: Characteristic citrus with lifted tropical notes.

Palate: Tropical fruits; guava and passionfruit intermingle with classic lemon and lime citrus notes. The abundant fruit sweetness and crunchy acid provide length and freshness.

Vinification: Crushed, de-stemmed settled in stainless steel tank. Fermented with a neutral yeast strain at 15°C to maintain delicate aromas and freshness.

Vintage Notes: Vintage 2016 was ultimately rewarding in many ways. Hail at flowering followed by 400mm of rain in January created many challenges in the vineyard. Hot dry weather in between ensured even consistent ripening resulting in a well-rounded Semillon harvest.

Cellaring Potential: 10+ years.

Alc/vol: 11.6%
