Cracka Review

The Bird in Hand Pinot Rose is such an accomplished pink wine that it was the official drink at the Wimbledon Tennis tournament for three consecutive years, we are sure it would have made a fine complement to the hundreds of portions of strawberries and cream. It's got Pinot’s seductive aromatics with lifted notes of strawberry and Turkish delight. Crisp, refreshing and with a touch of sweetness, it finishes with lively acidity making it just the thing for summer time drinking in the sun.

Winemaker's Notes

A quality cooler climate Pinot Noir Rosé hand crafted with 8-10 hours of skin contact resulting in a vibrant translucent, deep ruby-coloured wine with powerful varietal aromas & flavours of cherry & strawberry and balanced by a crisp, lively finish.

Tyson Stelzer (2011 Vintage) says
A restrained and textural wine that enjoys a stern chill to calm its lifted red berry, watermelon, pink grapefruit, rose petal, dried herb and mixed spice complexity.

Bright pink; perfumed aromas of spiced strawberries, the palate flirting with intense fruit and balancing acidity; has character and length.

Well made; clean and fresh strawberry-accented fruit; long palate, dry finish; fraction light-on.

Pale, bright pink; fresh, crisp and lively strawberry flavours; light-bodied, but has good balance and line.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Delicate but clear-cut spicy/strawberry aromas and flavours, followed by a near-dry finish. Classy rose.
