Cracka Review

Bird in Hand might sound a bit silly, but this is seriously good booze and the winemaking behind this Adelaide Hills winery is more than accomplished. From humble beginnings, this modest winery has gone onto win accolades all over the world and we think it will win favour with you. Made with Pinot Noir grapes this little sparkler is an attractive pink colour heightened with red fruit influences of strawberry and raspberry, the fine persistent bead makes it the perfect aperitif style. It’s crisp & long with a clean finish that makes it the party animal that won’t let you down.

Expert Reviews

Campbell Mattinson (2016 Vintage) says
A blush of strawberried fruit. A tangy finish. Some biscuity/cracker-like notes. And the cohesion to make the various components work together. It all works nicely.

Pale pink; has an almost aggressively fruity bouquet, and a bright spicy/savoury/strawberry palate; dry finish. No hint of lees complexity, of course; may build fruit complexity on cork.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Pale-pink blush; delicate, but near-perfect balance; offers strawberries with a twist of lemon, then a clear finish; a simple but delicious aperitif style.
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Pale pink; distinct strawberry flavours; good length, and while delicate and devoid of complexity, has nigh on perfect balance.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Pale blush-pink; appealing strawberry fruit with a touch of sweetness; does not have to be taken too seriously.
