    cracka review

Imported wines are now booming in this country and we are seeing more and more good examples, like this slinky and sensual drop from Argentina. The Alamos Malbec is the spicy Latino that your cellar has been waiting for. The nose is as dark and brooding as an Argentine movie star with dark fruits, floral aromas and mocha notes. It’s followed by a supple mouthfeel of pronounced tannins with tobacco, spices and a crisp, acid finish. This wine would go well with the national dish of barbecued steak.

    expert reviews

    Tyson Stelzer (2010 Vintage) says
Argentina is a fast-ascending force in the wine world but the Catena family has been hand harvesting its vineyards on the Andean foothills of Mendoza for more than a century. Argentina’s talents with malbec are widely celebrated, and this is a particularly refined introduction. Impressively supple black fruit density is toned by refreshingly low alcohol and savoury tomato nuances, with warm, fruit-filled generosity effortlessly countering malbec’s bracing but finely woven tannins and texture reminiscent of high cocoa dark chocolate.
