Cracka Review

Not Your Grandma's riesling may allude to the fact this is a dry style of riesling rather than the really sweet ones from back in the day, but that's not to say your grandma won’t like this one, too. There's plenty of bright, zesty lemons and limes in this wine, along with some honeysuckle florals and green apple. The palate is light-bodied and vibrantly fruited, with a nice line of flinty acidity and a decent citrusy finish. This will develop some toast and honey over the next 5 years or so.

Winemaker's Notes

Floral, lemon/lime and lychee aromas are followed by intense apple, lime and orange blossom on the palate. The wine has great length of palate with the soft refreshing acidity balancing the intensity of fruit and providing the backbone to enable medium to long term cellaring if so desired.

James Halliday (2014 Vintage) says
Chalky, crunchy aspect to the finish is the icing on the cake. Intense lime, lemon and bath salt flavours make for a powerful impression. Spray of herbs in the background. Funky label, classic flavours.

Wine Companion
James Halliday (2013 Vintage) says
The wine is right in the heart of Eden Valley style: intense lemon/lime fruit aromas and flavours, with a framework of minerally acidity, the mineral-like flavours ex the low pH of 2.9. Time shall not weary this wine. 12.3% alc.
