Cracka Review

Once you’ve got your mouth round pronouncing the name, you’ll have an easier time getting some of Mike De Iuliis’ wines into you. This is champion Hunter Chardonnay made by one of the region's star winemakers. Nicely weighted between subtle oak and melon with a creamy palate that’s vibrant with fruit and has a long finish. It would pair well with fishcakes or, for a more decadent match, lobster.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Pale straw.

Aroma: Subtle aromas of vanillin oak and melon, with a hint of green pear. Oak and fruit are well balanced.

Palate: A rich fruit palate combines with the creamy texture from the French oak treatment. The aftertaste is clean, with lingering peach flavours.

Cellaring: Drinking very well now, but will continue to improve with 3 - 4 years further cellaring.

Notes: Excellent growing conditions in 2016 led to the production of this outstanding wine. The fruit was handpicked and whole bunch pressed, hen fermented in French oak barrels. A handcrafted wine which should be enjoyed now or at its peak in 3 - 4 years.
