This classic Chardonnay from Forester is full of stone fruit and toasty oak aromas. It’s crisp, firm and full of concentrated fruit intensity and good natural acids. A no brainer for chicken dishes or even salmon. The only difficulty you’ll have is not pouring yourself another glass.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Pale straw with hints of green

Aroma: Subtle with fragrant characters of lemon, peach, talcum powder, roasted cashew, creamy lees and a complex flinty – lanolin character

Palate: Medium bodied with a creamy texture. There are characters of peach, fennel, cream and cashew with a firm, toasty finish

Food matches: Pumpkin ravioli, grilled veal chops

Peak drinking: Drink upon release or over the following 4-5 years

Alc/vol: 13.0%

Cold fruit was crushed and pressed, most to stainless steel for initiation of ferment, the rest direct to barrel, some wild-fermented in new and used French barriques once fermentation commenced. This attention to detail has resulted in a wine of exceptional length and intensity to its tangy fruit profile. Drink by 2021.

A mellow, gently rich chardonnay of ripe stone fruit, ripe citrus fruit and a lashing of soft, nougaty, nutty complexity. There's length of flavour, a great mesh of fruit and winemaking work, but a pristine feel that rings true. It's a summery kind of feel.

Some quality oak underpins what is largely a fruit driven chardonnay. Beautiful nutty stone fruit aromas with touches of lemon rind. The palate is rich and slightly creamy with some appealing stone fruit influence. Elegant and refined with a long finish.

More a fruit driven style of chardonnay but one not lacking in complexity and style. The oak treatment is neatly infused into the wine with stone fruit and light almond kernel adding complexity to the palate. Very long finish with a crispness and precision.

It's soft and generous on the palate with layers of toasty oak, creamy fruit and other lees influences. It's a wine that will drink best in the short term. Ideal with more substantial white meat dishes.
