2016 Josef Chromy Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

It seems Tasmania can do no wrong with their wines at the moment, and this offering from Josef Chromy is a nice alternative to the passionfruity Marlborough Sauv Blancs. It's citrusy and a little bit spicy on the nose, with some gooseberry and grassy notes for company. The palate is light, bright, ripe and fruity, with zippy citrus flavours, no tricky oak, and a refreshing, zesty finish. Great with fish tacos!

Winemaker's Notes

Lifted elderflower, gooseberry and passionfruit aromas with subtle notes of white flowers and melon.

Enjoy with seafood or salads. Drink now to 2018.

James Halliday (2015 Vintage) says
Estate-grown on the Relbia Vineyard, cold settled clear juice cool-fermented dry in stainless steel, immediately clarified and stabilised for early bottling. The interplay of tropical guava, herbaceous notes, pronounced citrus flavours and crisp acidity give the illusion of lees or oak texture when there is none. Gold medal Tasmanian Wine Show '15.
