The Gris phenomenon continues to gather momentum and the Kiwis are doing it brilliantly, especially from the cool region of Central Otago. This dramatic region produces excellent examples of aromatic whites and will be one to watch in the next few years. It’s made in the Alsacian style, which means it’s generous in texture and lively with pear and tropical fruits before a slightly sweet finish.

Medium-dry pinot gris, with a seductively soft texture and pleasant pear and spicy apple flavours. Flattered by a well-judged hint of sweetness that is supported by fruity acidity. Offers good value at this price.

The junior label here, showing a bright, smooth and attractive pear and peach nose, some gentle leesy, creamy notes and subtle spice. The palate's bright and juicy, with really even and fully formed texture; sweet candied-peach flavours run pretty darn long.

This has really striking yellow peach and nectarine fruit and heads into the tropical zone too - really attractive wine, filled with zesty appeal and a hint of spice. Mango, guava and ripe yellow stone fruit flavours make an instant impact up front, nicely shaped and textured, all delivered in smoothly honed style. Terrific value, this kills it in the crowd-pleasing stakes and punches well above its weight!
