2016 Tim Adams Clare Valley Riesling

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

If you are Riesling mad like we are here at Cracka, you will not only have heard of Tim Adams, you would no doubt have probably sampled some of his fine, fine Rieslings. It has very lifted Riesling character with citrus aromatics of lime, lemon and grapefruit. The palate is seamless with moderate viscosity and brisk acid finish. Use as an aperitif or with any seafood. Riesling wines from Clare Valley are most enjoyable when young and zesty, or left to mature beyond five years of age. This wine has been sealed with screwcaps to ensure its freshness and authenticity.

Winemaker's Notes

The use of only the free run juice at crushing has resulted in this wine being intensely flavoured and aromatic, retaining delicacy at the same time. The wine has lifted varietal Riesling character with floral and citrus aromatics of grapefruit, lime and lemon. The palate is seamless with slight viscosity and a brisk acid finish. Riesling wines from the Clare Valley are most enjoyable when both young and zesty, or left to mature beyond five years of age, our 2016 Riesling should fit both spectra with ease. This wine has been sealed with screwcaps to ensure its freshness and authenticity. Use as an aperitif or enjoy with any seafood.

2016 Tim Adams Clare Valley Riesling

Expert Reviews

The Wine Front (2016 Vintage) says
Sweetly floral, youthful banana perfume, ripe lemon and lime. Fresh and flavoursome, though it’s a more racy iteration of this wine for sure, gentle powdery texture, brisk Granny Smith apple acidity and flavour, and more of the same on a pretty long, but fractionally coarse finish. It’s good now, but it’ll be better in the new year (2017).

Sourced from a number of vineyards at various locations, this year gaining two new components: the Skilly Ridge Vineyard and a high vineyard at Penwortham. Bright, crisp and with the hallmark Clare Valley length; lemon blossom and lemon flavour is the fulcrum for both present and future enjoyment, the zesty finish another plus.

The old classic. Lovely fragrant wine with kaffir lime leaf, juicy lime fruit and a subtle blossom perfume. Fresh and flavoursome, no hard edges to be found, yet well etched with clean flinty acidity, as is the Tim Adams way. Has length and a juicy floral finish. Great to drink.
