Cracka Review

"Bugalugs" is not actually the latest hot celebrity children’s name, but a term of endearment for something near and dear. Tim Smith is a highly decorated winemaker who has spent the last two decades making wine for some of Australia’s most respected wineries and now under his own label. This is an easy drinking Barossa Shiraz that’s packed with upfront fruit, and a really great texture that makes it a sure fire winner with most red meat dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

This release of Bugalugs Barossa Shiraz shows all the classic regional characters; the nose shows ripe berry fruit and background cedary oak, while the palate also has dark berry fruit finishing with grainy tannin. Made to drink young, but a nice little rest in a cool cellar for a few years will reward those with the patience.

Expert Reviews

Gary Walsh (2016 Vintage) says
Dark cherry, liquorice and vanilla. Full bodied, red and black fruit, savoury coal kind of stuff, smattering of sage and assorted dried herbs, grainy but pliant tannin, and a satisfying finish. It’s Barossa Shiraz ready to go. Not too heavy, not too light. Good stuff.
