Vasse Felix is one of the most famous wineries in the Margaret River having been the first in the region. They have never lost sight of their original aim to produce distinctive and unique wines that are expressive of their surroundings. So what does classic dry white really mean? Well it’s code for a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon and this is a seriously attractive bundle of grass and tropicality, that’s fresh and vibrant and perfect with seafood.

This energetic, zippy thing will quicken the pace of any summer seafood fest! It’s classic Margaret River SSB with a dash of chardonnay, ricocheting with all the action of passionfruit, lemon, lime zest and green peas. Impressive acid profile and length.

Light straw-green; the fragrant bouquet has some passionfruit and wild flower nuances, but it is the electric drive of the palate, with its citrus and mineral framework, that captures attention, and holds it for some time after the wine is swallowed.

Loaded with green springtime aromas of freshly cut grass, lime zest and lemon juice, this is a clean, straight-down-the-line and beautifully poised semillon sauvignon blanc blend.

    James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
The bouquet half suggests some barrel ferment, although there is none, as it has complexity to the array of aromas that provide the opening stanza, but it is the intensity and drive of the palate that takes this wine onto another level, with the full gamut of fruit and mineral flavours.

A wine of real poise and finesse; lovely depth to the generous fruit, with a slight savoury /mineral edge that offers true line and length. Screwcap

This is the classic classic. It's a blend of semillon and Sauvignon Blanc and produces a vibrant, zesty style with those crisp gooseberry and lime juice characters lifting from a pure and precise palate. Lingering and fresh right to its long finish.

Medium yellow-green; the bouquet is quite solid, with some ripe fruit, but otherwise not particularly expressive; the palate is livened and lengthened by tingling acidity, but the wine stops there.

    winemaker's notes

A classic Margaret River blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. It has citrus and passionfruit aromas and a zesty, textured palate of pure and pristine fruit. It is vibrant, fresh and crisp.

    Colour: Brilliant straw green

Nose: A fragrant, bright perfume expressing pineapple, mandarin and lemon scented gum with a hint of freshly cut parsley bringing a subtle herbal element

Palate: A refreshing palate with a clean, crisp opening and mid palate leading to a succulent, mouth-watering finish. Delivers a generous volume of citrus, rockmelon and guava flavours balanced by a driving natural acidity that sustains the fruit weight effortlessly. A rewarding drink-alone or capable of matching light to medium richness cuisine.
