Achaval Ferrer Quimera Red Blend

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This medium to fuller-bodied beauty out of Argentina is a blend of malbec, merlot and cab sav and shows smells of dark berries and cherries on the nose, with hints of blueberries, florals and toasted cedar. The palate is quite smooth and rich, with fine tannins, and a long, juicy finish. This is one for the BBQ!

Winemaker's Notes

In the glass the colour is dense, very dark. The nose powerful, with fruit notes like dark cherries and blueberries, made complex by a minerality that reminds me of scalded rocks. The mouth is sweet and round and confirms the notes of fruit and minerals. The grape tannins dense and harmonic are perfectly integrated with the oak. The finish extends itself in a mature acidity that keeps the wine elegant despite its size.
