Made by the man with the greatest hair in the wine industry, Larry Cherubino, this superb West Aussie Riesling has that perfect combination of superstar crisp acidity coupled with juicy limey Riesling goodness, all making for an absolute stunner of a white wine.
How stunning? Well how about two gold medals - including a prestigious win at the National Wine Show - for starters? Stir in 94 points from James Halliday and it's pretty clear that this is one well-received wine.
Described by James as having 'freshness and finesse with plentiful varietal fruit expression' at 'a bargain basement price' we can't think of any reason not to buy this wonderful Great Southern Riesling.
It's even harder to resist at this ultra-sharp price!
The Great Southern region and surrounding areas had an abundant winter and spring rainfall, then with little to no rain over the summer months. Most varieties achieved ripeness at relatively low sugar levels. Yields were relatively low but of excellent quality.
Grapes were selected from various sites across the Great Southern. Great attention to harvest dates along with gentle de-stemming, minimal use of sulphur and using free-run juice from select parcels of fruit ensured the elegance and purity of flavour was maintained.
Almost transparent in colour, this wine shows great purity and refinement. A fragrant bouquet, with flavours of lemon peel and bath salts all carried along by a soft texture and long fine acid. Drink with beer-battered whiting with tartare sauce and lemon.
