Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
The 2003 vintage is a classy wine, made from 'low-crop, unirrigated vines' in the Lough Group vineyard. It's a fleshy, ripely flavoured wine with good intensity and a slightly sweet (7 grams/litre of residual sugar), honeyed finish.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
The 2002 vintage is a very classy wine with a youthful, pale lemon/green hue and pure, lemony, appley aromas. Slightly minerally, with a deliciously well-rounded texture, it possesses deep, delicate lemon/lime flavours, moderate acidity for South Island Riesling and a very rich, harmonious finish. High-priced, but worth it.

Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
The 2000 vintage is a quite Germanic style of Riesling, fresh, lively and crisp, with a light, floral bouquet and appley, delicate flavours, slightly sweet and tart. (The 2001 vintage and 2002 Marlborough Dry Riesling both won bronze medals at the 2002 Liquorland Top 100 Wine Competition.)
