Alana Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
Attractive citrus and smooth passionfruit pulp here; this has an air of concentration and depth with juicy acid tang, some gently stony river pebble nuances too. The palate has plenty of flavour and ripeness, almost into nectarine and stone fruits, with a smooth finish and discreet acidity.

WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Sweaty, Berocca-like nose and sweet palate dominated by slightly stewed lemon flavours. Very basic, lean style.

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
This Martinborough terrace estate delivers a mix of grassy, herbaceous aromas and some restrained tropicals, true to region with gravelly/savoury complexity. The palate delivers richer tropical fruits and lime juice flavours; a sweet, ripe finish.

Michael Cooper (2004 Vintage) says
This wine is usually a highly attractive, vibrant, ripely scented Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc, but the 2004 vintage, which makes no label claims about region of origin, was grown in Marlborough. It's a full-bodied, easy-drinking wine with good depth of melon and lime flavours and a rounded (5.3 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish.
