Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
A long, savoury and wonderfully persistent semillon whose lightly toasty, nutty fragrance of melon, nougat and dried flowers reveals some vegetal, cabbage leaf-like nuances. Fine and sweetly oaked, with a pleasing depth of fruit and charry vanilla oak underpinned by a fine chalkiness, it culminates in a brisk, racy finish of lemony acids.

Ripe with gentle grass and citrus in youth, at 5 years the palate has subtle toast flavours and a smooth texture that will develop further.

Pale, brilliant colour; the first hints of toast on the bouquet, with long, fine lemon and grass flavours, the oak seamlessly woven through the fruit.

Powerful, oak-driven style starting to show some rich, toasty bottle development. Great palate structure and good persistence of excellent crisp, grassy flavours.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Lovely wine; partial barrel fermentation adds to complexity of both the bouquet and entry to the mouth; then citrus/gooseberry appears and wonderful squeaky acidity on the long, lingering finish and aftertaste.

Aromatic herbs, spice and grass on the bouquet; exceptional intensity and length; acidity to sustain prolonged cellaring. Pity about the cork finish.
