The sweet wines of Alois Kracher are like nectar. They range from excellent to magical, which makes the passing of Alois in 2007 a great loss to the wine world. His son, Gerhard, is now running things, and is carrying on the great work of his father. This 2009 offering is a luscious, lip-licking beauty, with tastes of stone fruits, marzipan, honey and ginger spices on the nose, whilst the palate is sweet and well balanced with the acidity, lots of honey-coated stone fruit flavours, licks of candied orange rind, and a smooth, sweet, rich finish. Great with pate or soft cheeses.
Inviting flavours of fresh peach and tropical fruit on the nose. Juicy on the palate, delicate vineyard peach aromas, grapefruit zests, attractive spiciness, salty minerals, lively acidity, elegant texture.
