Ambassador Ministry Series Tempranillo

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
A very light, cool take on tempranillo from the Canberra District where many producers are investigating this Spanish grape's potential. Plenty of mint and herbal aromas here, some eucalypt and light berry flavours, easygoing tannins and real lunchtime red drinkability.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
This is made by Andrew McEwin of the Kyeema Winery at Murrumbateman. The region has been one of the bolters of Australian wine over the past decade. It doesn't have a lot of perfume or indeed flavour, but there's something good about it, all the same. There's a lot of savoury tannin and a reasonable dollop of sweet-sour character, the aftertaste sound and juicy. You have to be tolerant of bitterness, but with tapas we could see this being a big hit. This wine has done well on the wine show circuit too.
