Amelia Park Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker's Notes

This wine displays attractive ripe blackcurrant fruit with lifted herbal and minty notes, supported by underlying cigar box and chocolate characters. The palate has great intensity and length with luscious red berry fruits, black olive and smooth fine tannins.

Ray Jordan (2012 Vintage) says
A smooth & stylish cabernet with a distinctive cool mint influence on the nose working with deep dark black fruits. The palate is so seamless & velvety smooth with a perfect unison of fine tannins & fine grained oak. It’s largely cabernet but smaller additions of malbec & petit verdot have played a part in completing a most impressive wine. Clearly sourced from a first-class vineyard.

A wine that captures the essence of the 2010 vintage. Less opulent than the 2009 vintage and this linear and slightly angular wine displays some classic cabernet qualities. Leafy black currant and minerally aromas with a deep and penetrating palate. There's power but also a degree of elegance and poise. Will handle some cellaring.
