James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Light, bright crimson-purple; fragrant cassis aromas on the bouquet lead into a fresh, light- to medium-bodied palate, with cassis again to the fore, French oak, fine tannins and crisp acidity bringing up the rear. Cabernet sauvignon a la mode.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Red-purple; ripe blackcurrant and cassis aromas are also the driving force on the palate, albeit complexed by 15 months' maturation in French oak; the tannins are spot on. Given the drought, a mighty effort.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Good colour; a mix of ripe, almost fleshy, blackcurrant fruit, with cedar/vanilla oak and gently savoury tannins.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Intense blackcurrant and cassis, but also leaf, olive and earth within the varietal spectrum, but overall confronts rather than caresses.
