Amisfield Pinot Noir

Winemaker's Notes

A vibrant ruby colour. The nose is exceptionally aromatic and complex- fresh red cherries, baking spices and fine oak. The palate is taut, spicy yet silky and fruit driven with a delicate finish. Drink now or in four to five years.

Amisfield Pinot Noir

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
The '09 Amisfield pinot noir is a deeply ripe dark-cherry style, with a sheen of hard brown baking spices, anise and sweet, earthy complexity; a toasty thread too. The palate's supple and works tannins to build assertive edges, revealing a heart of dark-cherry and cherry-cola flavour - really convincing.

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
Plenty of ripe red fruits lead this one out of the glass, with cherry and plum following in behind. Red florals make an appearance here too, thanks to Otago's glacial soils. The palate is laid out across smooth, slippery tannins that move in fine linear shape - a seamless pinot building to a rich dark cherry finish.
