Cracka Review

This red is labelled Special Reserve, so why it is Special? And, who “Reserved” it? Does the winemaker think it’s impressive? Or is it just marketing spin? When we tasted the Angas Plains Estate Special Reserve Shiraz, we were left in no doubt that veteran winemaker Peter Douglas thought highly of this Shiraz. This smoothly textured red has no rough edges and delivers lashings of rich plum and berry flavours backed by savoury spice characters.

Winemaker's Notes

The wine has a lovely fruit sweetness combined with intensity and the spicy characteristics and power of a great shiraz.

The wine has incredible dark inky depth and good palate weight to provide lingering flavours with each sip.

This wine is worthy of drinking now and will show further development with aging in the bottle over the next 10 years.
