Annie's Lane Copper Trail Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
A serious wine, the shiraz in no way diluted or unduly softened by its blend mates; the flavours are in the black fruit spectrum, but with splashes of red, which give the wine finesse and interest.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
Jeremy Oliver (2004 Vintage) says
A minty regional wine with all the elegance and balance expected of 2004. Fragrant and peppery, with lightly minty aromas of pristine small dark berries, plums and sweet cedar/chocolate oak backed by a whiff of menthol and iodide. Long, deeply flavoured and fine-grained, its slightly meaty presence of fresh dark fruits and savoury oak finishes with length, elegance and structure.
Australian Wine Annual 2010 2009
WINESTATE (2004 Vintage) says
It has, according to one judge, Òdecadent feral aromas!Ó Rich and velvety in the mouth and still showing fresh mulberry and plum-like fruit with a violet lift. Concentrated, integrated and ÒyummyÓ.
Winestate 2009
James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
As it starts towards maturity, the wine has picked up notes of spice and mocha; also, the cooler vintage always invested it with elegance, a character now emphasised.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
Jeremy Oliver (2002 Vintage) says
Long, elegant and savoury, this charming and stylish southern Rhone blend is scented with white pepper, dark chocolates and plums, blackberries and meaty, spicy undertones. Fine and supple, its alluring expression of dark plums and berries, polished leather and aniseed overlies a dusty, fine-grained spine of drying tannin, finishing with lingering notes of licorice and dark fruit.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
In the mainstream of Clare Valley style for this blend, which simply doesn't catch my imagination; jammy, weakly structured wines seem to be the order of the day.
Australian Wine Companion 2007 2006
James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Very fragrant spice, chocolate, earth and black fruits; succulent, smooth and long; elegant finish.
Australian Wine Companion 2005 2004
James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the aroma is strongly reminiscent of good quality Rhone Valley red, with a mix of licorice and game aromas, then an attractive medium-bodied and particularly well-balanced palate. Gold and trophy winner Clare Valley Regional Wine Show 2001.
