Ant Moore Pinot Gris

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Ant Moore is the name of the winemaker, so now we have that cleared up, what about the contents of the bottle. Well, this is a rich, full, slightly sweet pinot gris that shows whiffs of pears, stone fruits and dairy on the nose. The palate is lush with a touch of sweetness upfront, a nice ball of peaches and cream in the middle, and a smooth, bright finish that will see this match well with Thai cuisine.

Winemaker's Notes

From my home vineyard, this pinot gris is a culmination of years of work. It is my first estate grown pinot gris and hopefully a sign of good things to follow.

Ant Moore Pinot Gris

Matt Skinner (2009 Vintage) says
Having helped launuh the super-popular Catallna Sounds and Crowded House brands, winemaker Ant Moore has now brought us his own label from the Waihopai Valley on the northern tip of New Zealand's South Island. This pinot gris has a rich and musky nose of pear, apricot skin and green herb, which makes way for a broad and oily mouthful of wine with terrific intensity of fruit, focused acidity and a long, drying finish. Perfect when partnered with blackened salmon or tuna.
