Nick Stock (2006 Vintage) says
From the Bicheno area on the east coast of the island, this shows deep-seated ripe pinot fruits, dark cherries, undergrowth and scents of spiced earth. Plenty of flesh through the palate, juicy red fruits, musky lift and convincing weight through the finish. Richly bodied and keenly balanced.

Rob Geddes MW (2006 Vintage) says
Straightforward up-front fruit in a ripe, unadorned style.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Good depth to the deep red colour, still with a touch of purple; obvious charry oak adds to the complexity of the damson plum fruit of the bouquet, but the wine changes up a gear with the classy, layered and rich palate, with its mix of plum and spice powering the wine through to a long finish. Multiple trophy winner.

James Halliday (1995 Vintage) says
Light to medium red; a fragrant, light cherry and plum bouquet with a touch of toasty oak; the palate has good balance and length, with more of those cherry/strawberry fruit flavours. Rated highly because of its length and balance.
