Cracka Review

Ara takes a slight step up with this single estate sauvignon blanc. It's a bit more reined in and refined in style showing more white peach and grapefruit with tropical hints. The palate is quite graceful with upright citrus acidity, a mineral texture and a dryish finish. Would match well with a Thai salad.

Winemaker's Notes

A classical expression of Marlborough but with the added complexity and texture that you can expect from Ara. This Sauvignon Blanc delivers lush grapefruit and gooseberry flavours, beautifully offset by a refined dry finish.

The backbone of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is composed of lifted aromatics of grapefruit, with restrained mineral and stone fruit characters typical of close planted, low yielding vines at Ara.

The wine was aged on yeast lees prior to racking, blending and fining.

WINESTATE (2010 Vintage) says
Weighty, with tropical fruit flavours, reminiscent of passionfruit. Restrained, ripe style with fresh acidity, very good richness and harmony and a dry, finely balanced finish.
