Riesling revivals come and go but they have more of a chance to succeed if all examples tasted as pure and expressive as this wine from Central Otago. The region might be famed for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay but this instantly shows us the potential of this wild and untamed part of NZ. The wine is delicate with a latent minerality showing signs of lime and apple before an elegant palate of stone fruit and flint. It finishes with racy, clean acids and lingers impressively.
This wine has elegant floral notes and a zesty citrus lift. The palate is wonderfully crisp and fresh, overlayed with the slatey and fine texture of the site on which the fruit is grown. Enjoy this wine over the next five years.
